1. The summit between US President Donald and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un looks to be back on track. Trump confirmed US and North Korean officials are meeting at the Demilitarized Zone to organize details.

2. North Korea’s leader secretly met with South Korean President Moon Jae-In. Kim told Moon he remained committed to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and to talks with Trump.

3. UK Prime Minister Theresa May reportedly wants to meet Trump far away from London. Many Britons have vowed to stage protests ahead of Trump’s plans to visit Britain in July.

4. China's navy "warned off" US warships that sailed through the disputed South China Sea. The challenge came at a sensitive time, after the US disinvited China from an international military exercise last week.

5. Italy's prime minister-in-waiting has quit trying to form a government. Italy hasn't had a government since its March 4 election, and could be headed for another election in coming months.

6. Egypt detained a prominent opposition leader as the country continues to crack down on dissent. In recent weeks Egypt has arrested several prominent activists, journalists, and opposition figures.

7. Former US President George HW Bush was hospitalized in Maine. Former first lady Barbara Bush, the president's wife of 73 years, died on April 17.

8. The Royal Bank of Canada became the first financial institution to appease China in its political crackdown on Taiwan. China has been hawkish on how foreign companies describe its disputed territories.

9. An American man jailed in Venezuela for two years finally arrived back in the US. Joshua Holt and his wife, Thamara Caleno, were jailed on weapons charges that US officials considered bogus.

10. Richard Branson says he's months away from becoming an astronaut. Branson told the BBC that he's "neck-and-neck" with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos' space program Blue Origin.
