De meeste cruiseschepen zijn behoorlijk schoon. Dat blijkt uit gegevens van de Amerikaanse Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) die inspecties uitvoeren naar de sanitaire voorzieningen.
Van de meer dan tweehonderd door CDC geïnspecteerde cruiseschepen voldoen verreweg de meeste aan de standaard van ten minste 86 punten op een schaal van 100 als score voor het sanitair. Een aantal cruiseschepen kreeg zelfs de maximale score van 100.
Dit zijn de twintig cruiseschepen die de maximale score kregen tijdens de meest recente CDC-inspectie.
