Giannis Antetokounmpo has become a superstar for the Milwaukee Bucks, a two-way, athletic force who’s already dominating at 24 years old.

Yet six years ago, few people in the NBA could have ever seen this coming. When Antetokounmpo was taken 15th in the 2013 draft, he was lanky forward from Greece few people knew about. The potential was there, but could he put it all together?

Now, looking back, 14 teams missed the opportunity to draft a star that has become the clear-cut best player from the draft.

Take a look back at the 2013 draft and the 14 players picked before him.

The Cleveland Cavaliers took Anthony Bennett with the No. 1 pick.

Bennett never panned out in the NBA. He played on four teams in four years. He played in the NBA G League during the 2018-19 season.

The Orlando Magic took Victor Oladipo with the second pick.

Oladipo now plays for the Indiana Pacers. He has career averages of 17 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4 assists per game and made the All-Star team in 2017-18.

The Washington Wizards took Otto Porter Jr. with the third pick.

After five years with the Wizards, Porter was traded to the Chicago Bulls this season. He has career averages of 11 points and 5 rebounds per game.

The Charlotte Hornets took Cody Zeller with the fourth pick.

Zeller is still with Charlotte today. He has career averages of 8 points and 5 rebounds per game.

The Phoenix Suns took Alex Len with the fifth pick.

Len was traded to the Atlanta Hawks in the 2018 offseason. He had the best year of his career in 2018-19, averaging 11 points and 5 rebounds per game.

The New Orleans Pelicans took Nerlens Noel with the sixth pick and traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Noel played three seasons with the 76ers before he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2016. He came off the bench for the Oklahoma City Thunder this season.

The Sacramento Kings took Ben McLemore with the seventh pick.

McLemore returned to the Kings for the 2018-19 season after leaving the year before. He has career averages of 8.8 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

The Detroit Pistons took Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with the eighth pick.

Caldwell-Pope has played for the Lakers the last two years. He averaged 11 points and 3 rebounds per game this season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves took Trey Burke with the ninth pick and traded him to the Utah Jazz.

Burke has played on four teams in six years and briefly played in the G League. He was traded from the Knicks to the Mavericks this season in the Kristaps Porzingis blockbuster.

The Portland Trail Blazers took C.J. McCollum with the 10th pick.

McCollum has become one of the best shooting guards in the NBA, averaging over 20 points per game the last four seasons.

The Philadelphia 76ers took Michael Carter-Williams with the 11th pick.

Despite winning Rookie of the Year, Carter-Williams has hopped around the NBA, playing on four teams the last three years. He finished the 2018-19 season on the Magic.

The Oklahoma City Thunder took Steven Adams with the 12th pick.

Adams is still with the Thunder and has become one of the best defensive centers in the NBA.

The Dallas Mavericks took Kelly Olynyk with the 13th pick, but traded him to the Boston Celtics.

Olynyk played four years with the Celtics and signed a $60 million contract with the Heat two years ago. He has career averages of 10 points and 5 rebounds per game.

The Utah Jazz took Shabazz Muhammad with the 14th pick but traded him to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Muhammad played in the NBA for five years, averaging 9 points and 3 rebounds per game. He played in China during the 2018-19 season.

The Milwaukee Bucks took a risk with the 15th pick, drafting a little-known 19-year-old forward from Greece named Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Antetokounmpo has developed into one of the best players in the NBA. He averaged 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game for the first-place Bucks this season and is considered the front-runner for MVP.
