• Despite his Tuesday arraignment, Trump says he'll still have a "nice" and "wonderful" birthday.
  • Trump pleaded not guilty on Tuesday in Miami to 37 charges.
  • Trump turns 77 on Wednesday.

Former President Donald Trump says he may be looking at 400 years of prison time, but he's still going to have a great time on his birthday.

Trump, who was born on June 14, 1946, turns 77 on Wednesday. His birthday comes just a day after he was arraigned in a Miami court on Tuesday on charges of mishandling classified documents. Trump pleaded not guilty to the 37 charges that the Justice Department has brought against him.

The bad news didn't prevent some Trump supporters from offering their well wishes to him throughout the day: First, when he stopped over at Versailles, a Cuban restaurant in Miami, and once more when he was in the middle of his post-arraignment speech in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Trump commented that it was "some birthday" when his supporters broke out in an impromptu birthday song at the restaurant, per Semafor.

And midway through Trump's speech on Tuesday night, some of his supporters yelled out birthday wishes to him when he paused to take a gulp of water.

"Thank you! Happy birthday, great birthday," Trump quipped. "Nice birthday, isn't it?"

His supporters then started singing him a birthday song.

"Nice birthday! Wonderful birthday. They were saying — Happy birthday! I was with Eric and Lara, and the kids. 'Happy birthday, Grandpa!' Trump said when the chorus died down. "I said, 'Oh great, I just got charged with — they want 400 years approximately.'"

Trump and his aide, Waltine Nauta, were both named in an indictment that was unsealed on Friday that accuses them of mishandling top-secret information. Trump faces 37 charges, including 31 under the Espionage Act.

Trump could face 400 years of prison time if he is given the maximum penalty for each charge, though sentencing guidelines could see him serving much less time.
