- Searches for "Stormy Daniels" surged on Pornhub the day Donald Trump was arraigned.
- The alleged hush-money case around the porn star appears to be reminding people of her work.
- Pornhub says a record 650,000 people searched her name on the site on Tuesday, per TMZ.
Tuesday was a good day for adult film actress Stormy Daniels on Pornhub, with fans searching her name on the site 650,000 times, according to TMZ.
This was, of course, the same day that former President Donald Trump was arraigned on felony charges centering around an alleged hush-money payment made to Daniels in 2016 in order to buy her silence over a claimed affair.
Trump denies the affair and the charges.
The case has kept the spotlight on Daniels, and has reminded a vast number of Pornhub users of her oeuvre.
Data shared between the company and TMZ shows that as news of the Trump indictment broke, searches for "Stormy Daniels" rose steeply, peaking at 631,254 last Friday.
But her popularity grew even more on the day of the arraignment, reaching beyond 650,000 searches, Pornhub told TMZ.
Search traffic for "Stormy Daniels" also grew on March 21, the day that Trump — inaccurately — predicted he was to be arrested. An insights post on the company website said that people searched for her 467,078 times that day, up from general numbers in the low thousands.
Daniels — who appears to be relishing the attention around the case — spent the Sunday before that tweeting up a storm about the situation.
And on the day of the arraignment she launched a zinger at Trump, after a detractor aimed a crude insult at her online.
"It's definitely more fun being under my sexy man instead of under arrest," she wrote on Twitter.
While the case has provided something of a boost to Trump's polling numbers and donations, Daniels — whose real name is Stephanie Clifford — also appears to be finding it a lucrative moment.
On Friday, she tweeted that orders for "#TeamStormy" merchandise were pouring in, thanking her followers for the support.
