Photos from a demonstration against Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel in Havana show an AP photojournalist being attacked by Cuban police while covering the protest.

AP photographer Ramon Espinosa can be seen in a photo taken by AFP photographer Adalberto Roque on Sunday struggling with a police officer while surrounded by a group of people.

Another photo, also taken by Roque, showed Espinosa with injuries covering his face and a camera still in his hand.

Thousands of Cubans took part in a protest against Diaz-Canel and the country's government on Sunday, with many chanting "Freedom," "Enough" and "Unite," the Associated Press reported.
