Famed Spanish fashion designer Paco Rabanne, known for his perfumes and extravagant metal couture, has died.

He was 88.

Rabanne's designs were instrumental in the French fashion world of the 1960s.

"Among the most seminal fashion figures of the 20th century, his legacy will remain a constant source of inspiration," his official account tweeted, confirming the fashion icon's death.
