After months of speculation that the fight would never happen, followed by weeks of anticipation of how the bout will play out, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will finally meet in the ring at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday for 12 rounds of boxing in what could be the biggest pay-per-view in TV history.
The schedules for combat events are always loose, and it’s tough to know precisely when Mayweather and McGregor will enter the ring and hear the bell. Chances are the real festivities – including a performance of the national anthem by Demi Lovato and the solo entrances of both fighters to the ring – won’t begin until two hours after the start of the broadcast, and the fight itself will start about 45 minutes after that.
Below are the start times for the broadcast, and the approximate start times for the fighters’ entrance and the start of the fight (in that order) for major cities in different time zones:
- New York (ET): 9 p.m., 11 p.m., 11:45 p.m. Chicago (CT): 8 p.m., 10 p.m., 10:45 p.m. Denver (MT): 7 p.m., 9 p.m., 9:45 p.m. Las Vegas (PT): 6 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:45 p.m.Los Angeles (PT): 6 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:45 p.m. Honolulu (HAST): 3 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:45 p.m. Sydney (AET): 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 1:45 p.m. Tokyo (JST): 10 a.m., noon, 12:45 p.m. Moscow (MSK): 4 a.m., 6 a.m., 6:45 a.m. Paris (CEST): 3 a.m., 5 a.m., 5:45 a.m. London (BST): 2 a.m., 4 a.m., 4:45 a.m.
Currently, Mayweather is the heavy favorite, but some sportsbooks report that 95% of their bettors are backing McGregor to give Mayweather the first loss of his career in the mixed martial artist’s first professional fight in the boxing ring.
