How to delete your Vimeo account if you want to start fresh or no longer use the video platform

Vimeo, the video-hosting and -sharing platform, has become an increasingly attractive tool for professional content creators.

However, you may have an outdated, personal Vimeo account you’d prefer to scrub clean from the internet.

If you want to wipe your old account for a fresh start, or are simply bummed Vimeo never came through with creating its own Netflix-like video subscription service, here’s how you can delete your account in five easy steps using your desktop browser.

How to delete your Vimeo account on a web browser

1. Navigate to Vimeo’s website on your browser of choice and log in to your account.

2. Hover your cursor over your profile icon, located in the top left of your screen to reveal a dropdown menu and click "Settings."

3. From the menu list on the left side, click "Privacy."

4. You'll see your level of membership, with an option to "Upgrade," and an option to "Delete your account." Click to delete your account.

5. Enter your password, and click "Delete account" to complete the process.

Keep in mind before deleting that the action is irreversible.
