HBO Max – HBO’s newest and most comprehensive streaming service – offers thousands of popular and original shows and movies for $14.99 a month.

Compared to other streaming services, the number of devices that can simultaneously stream from the same account on HBO Max is on par with the tiered pricing systems of both Netflix and Hulu. Additionally, it is tied with Amazon Prime but falls short when compared to Disney Plus.

Here's how many people can watch HBO Max at once, compared to past HBO services

Up to three people can watch HBO Max simultaneously. It doesn't matter if users are watching from the same user profile or different ones. Additionally, users can access HBO Max using the mobile app, a web browser online, or their smart TV.

Compared to past HBO services, HBO Max offers the highest simultaneous streams. Previous HBO Go users will remember a maximum of two people using the account at once, though three devices could be registered. Additionally, HBO Now - the cable provider equivalent - technically allowed three, though you could sign in from any number of devices.

How HBO Max compares to the competition, including Disney Plus and Netflix

Unlike rival streaming services, HBO Max is well positioned, though it doesn't beat the reigning champion Disney Plus. Amazon Prime also allows for up to three viewers, while the lower tiers of Hulu and Netflix allow two. The latter options offer upgrades to increase your viewers to four, but for an additional charge.

It's worth noting that four-person streaming for Netflix costs about the same as HBO Max at $15.99 per month, while Disney Plus costs only $6.99.
