A shooting at a Jerusalem synagogue on Friday has left at least seven people dead and ten others injured, according to Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Israel's Magen David Adom emergency services said police killed the gunman at the crime scene, according to Reuters, Associated Press, and CNN.

Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the shooting a terrorist attack on Twitter.

The shooting occurred during worship services on International Holocaust Remembrance Day. It also occurred after Israeli forces killed nine Palestinians and injured others in Jenin Thursday, according to reporting from CNN.

Thursday's events marked the deadliest Israeli raid into the West Bank territory in decades, according to AP.

Both Thursday and Friday's shootings come before a planned trip by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to the region. From January 29th to the 31st, Blinken will visit Egypt, Israel, and the West Bank.
