2020 marks the 38th anniversary of MTV’s Video Music Awards, and this year was a little different with host Keke Palmer.

Instead of an indoors event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, the (somewhat) live show consists of outdoor performances across New York City with limited or no audience.

The night included performances from the Black Eyed Peas, BTS, DaBaby, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, and more.

Performances aside, the MTV VMAs are known for celeb’s dazzling, and, often, jaw-dropping looks. Lady Gaga led this year’s event with a few head-turning outfit changes. You can see all of the best looks from this year’s show here. Here are some of the most memorable outfits to ever hit the red carpet and ceremony.

Anjelica Oswald, Angélica Acevedo, and Aly Weisman contributed to a previous version of this story.
