• Kevin McCarthy has made aggressive oversight a cornerstone of the GOP's midterm messaging.
  • A podcast discussion about Hunter Biden's laptop stoked further outrage.
  • "We will hold them all accountable," McCarthy fumed online.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's response to a Mark Zuckerberg interview about how Facebook handled a controversial news story in 2020 was pledging to make all the related parties miserable in 2023.

"The FBI colluded with Big Tech to silence news stories before the 2020 election in an effort to control your access to information," McCarthy wrote on Twitter, adding "when Republicans are back in charge, we will hold all of them accountable."

His outrage was sparked by Zuckerberg telling celebrity podcaster Joe Rogan that the FBI had urged him, years before, to watch out for polarizing political content. Rogan had asked if the social media hub had censored an explosive story about then-presidential hopeful Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden.

Zuckerberg said he took the FBI's warning to heart because "they come to us and tell us we need to be on guard about something, then I want to take that seriously."

Should House Republicans reclaim control of the chamber this fall, McCarthy has already vowed to unleash MAGA-led investigations galore.

The running list of targets includes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, anyone associated with the January 6 select committee, anyone involved in the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago, along with others who've angered embattled former President Donald Trump over the years.
