This is the man charged with murder in the Finsbury Park Mosque terror attack.

Darren Osborne, 47, appeared in court via video-link on Tuesday after allegedly driving his van into a crowd of Muslim worshippers in north London on June 19.

Osborne is pictured in a sketch by a court artist watching proceedings at the Old Bailey in London, where cameras are forbidden.

He appeared remotely from a locked room in the high-security Belmarsh prison.

According to the Press Association, he spoke only to confirm his name. PA's correspondent said he "looked relaxed" during the brief hearing.

One man - 51-year-old Makram Ali - died in the attack, which came not long after midnight following a Ramadan evening prayer session. Nine others were injured.

Osborne, who lives in Cardiff, is charged with "terrorism-related murder," as well as attempted murder.

He did not apply for bail. Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC ruled that he should stay behind bars until his next hearing, on July 20.
